AI for Revit Models

Revit is the dominant BIM platform for building design, and AI that works natively with Revit data has access to the richest information set available: 3D geometry, element properties, type definitions, schedules, views, and the relationships between them. This depth of data enables AI analysis that goes well beyond what is possible with PDF drawings alone.

Code compliance checking against Revit models is more accurate than checking against 2D drawings because the model contains the actual spatial relationships. AI can measure room areas, calculate occupant loads from room properties, trace egress paths through the 3D model, and verify that wall types have the correct fire-resistance ratings — all from data that is embedded in the model rather than inferred from 2D representations.

Model validation checks the model itself for quality issues that would propagate into drawings and downstream deliverables. AI verifies that rooms are properly enclosed (no gaps in room-bounding elements), that walls are joined correctly, that grids are consistent across linked models, and that levels match between disciplines. These model hygiene issues are tedious to check manually but directly impact the accuracy of every schedule, quantity takeoff, and coordination exercise that relies on the model data.
