Detail matching is the process of finding construction details across projects that solve similar design problems. When a designer needs a parapet detail for a new building, the firm has probably drawn dozens of parapet details over the years — but finding the right one in a library of thousands of details is often harder than drawing a new one from scratch.

AI Detail Matching uses visual and semantic understanding to search across all of a firm's past projects. Describe the detail you need — "coping at parapet with single-ply roofing and continuous insulation" — and the AI returns every detail the firm has drawn that matches, ranked by relevance. The results include the full detail drawing, the project it came from, and the spec references, so the designer has complete context.

This directly addresses the institutional knowledge problem. Senior designers carry a mental library of details from decades of experience, but that library retires when they do.
